Gulf Elementary Dress Code

 

Rubber soled, closed toe and heel sneakers are to be worn on PE days.Sneakers are to have shoelaces (which should remain tied) or Velcroed

Skirts and shorts must be at finger-tip length or longer. Tights or bike shorts may not be worn as pants unless worn with a pair of shorts, skirt or shirt that is finger-tip length or longer. Jeans or shorts with holes, rips, tears, or cuts must be below the knee. No pajama pants or slippers. 

Transparent, see-through tops, bare midriff, strapless, low-cut, clothing, spaghetti strap tops and outfits that provide minimum coverage are not allowed. Halters, backless dresses or tops, tube tops, tank tops, muscle shirts, spandex, or any clothing that may be distracting, must be covered with a sweater, shirt or jacket

Apparel, emblems, insignias, badges, or symbols that promote the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco or any other illegal activities, have slogans or advertising, which, by its controversial or obscene nature are determined to be a distraction to the educational process are prohibited

The wearing of hats, caps, headgear, hoodies or sunglasses is prohibited indoors

Clothing with slogans or advertising, which, by its controversial or obscene nature, disrupts the educational setting, is prohibited

 

THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO APPRAISE ANY CURRENT FASHION OR FAD AND DETERMINE WHETHER IT IS APPROPRIATE FOR SCHOOL.

Dress Code Enforcement Policy
1st Offense: Verbal warning, parent contact
2nd Offense: Loss of eligibility for participation in extracurricular activities (maximum 5 days), and parent contact
3rd Offense: Level II loss of eligibility for participation in extracurricular activities (maximum 30 days), verbal, and written parent contact
